The Ocean View School District Governing Board desires to provide a positive work environment where employees and job applicants are free from harassment and are assured of equal access and opportunities in accordance with law. As we know, the single most effective, preventative tool regarding school safety and security is the See Something, Say Something protocol, which every school in Greenville County utilizes. GCS has updated the icon for reporting threats and bullying to reflect the "See Something, Say Something" campaign and it is being rolled out to all student Chromebooks in the list of icons on their bottom toolbar. It will also be located both in the Oakview homepage icons as well as on the GCS website in multiple locations.
All communication, with the exception of the Edjoin process, should be directed through the Human Resources Offices of Ocean View School District. Any applicant who attempts to directly contact the site Principal, department Director, Board Member or any staff member with the intent of influencing the outcome of the hiring process will be disqualified from candidacy for this position. While the former icon looked like a traditional “no" symbol to designate no bullying, this new icon serves as a visual reminder to report threats, bullying, discrimination, harassment, and intimidation in line with the See Something, Say Something protocol. School safety and security are top priorities in the Kettering City Schools and in schools and communities across the nation. Fortunately, many incidents are preventable if the school community actively monitors and reports unsafe behavior. With an enrollment of approximately 500 students and a highly dedicated staff, Oak View provides all students with a firm educational foundation upon which to build a successful beginning of a life long love for learning.
